Dundalk head coach Stephen O’Donnell praised his players for the ‘monumental effort’ they made over the season to secure the club a place in Europe next season.
Friday night’s 2-1 win over Bohemians at Casey’s Field means that the Lilywhites will enter the Europa Conference League qualifiers next summer and O’Donnell, who took over the reins last December with just two players under contract, said everybody at the club should be proud of the achievement.
“The template was to consolidate, get Dundalk back to bring the people’s club, the town’s club,” he said. “Getting Europe and finishing third is a massive achievement.”
