Dundalk FC are providing a Quiet Room for children with autism and sensory issues who want to attend our first-team matches at Oriel Park.

The Quiet Room – which will see our home SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division matches live streamed – will be in the Video Analysis & Media facility in the Youth Development Centre and is available to both home and away supporters.

“We are going to be allowing children with autism and sensory issues to use this facility, it’s going to be a quiet room, so there’ll be no noise. They’ll still be able to enjoy coming up to Oriel Park with their family,” Dundalk FC owner John Temple said.

“They can book in with Nita beforehand. Any child who has a sensory issue or needs a quiet room will be able to come and view the game on the wall. It will be streamed live here, but there’ll be no noise in the room.

“I think that’s very important. We’ve listened to a lot of families about how they can’t come up to a game because there’s singing in the Shed or because there are people shouting in the stand, or there are other kids around them who don’t have those sensory issues.

“It makes us more inclusive and we’re right to create an all-inclusive club for all families. This is something that we can offer now – it is something that we should do and are doing.”

Those wishing to avail of the facility can book their place by e-mailing nita.whelan@dundalkfc.com.
