We are delighted to announce that young defender Seán Keogh has signed a new contract to keep him at the club until the end of the 2026 season.

The 18-year-old arrived at Oriel Park at the beginning of the 2023 campaign and was a key member of our MU17 academy side in his first year at the club.

Seán, who is about to enter his Leaving Cert year at Skerries Community College, signed his first professional deal in January and made his league debut for the club against Waterford at Oriel Park in June.

He has gone on to make a further two starts since then, against Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United, and his progress has been rewarded with a new deal that will take him through the next two seasons.

“I’m absolutely over the moon,” said Keogh. “It’s a great club and I’m learning so much every day from the players, staff and manager.

“It’s been a crazy year and, to be honest, I never expected to go like this. I spoke to Daryl Horgan before I made my debut and he told me to be grateful for where I am.

“If I was told this last year, I would have been over the moon. It’s been amazing and I’m looking forward to kicking on now.”

“Seán has done fantastically well,” said Dundalk FC manager Jon Daly. “He’s a really good young player coming through and it’s important that we tie our best players down.

“He has his Leaving Cert next year and that is a massive thing for him to focus on so if we can help him with his football alongside that it will be brilliant.”
