Dundalk FC are delighted to announce the arrival of goalkeeper Enda Minogue from Athlone Town, in the final signing of a busy weekend for manager Ciarán Kilduff.

Minogue made his Premier Division debut against Dundalk as a 16-year-old for Bray Wanderers at the Carlisle Grounds in August 2018, lining out against two of his heroes from his ex-club Knocklyon United, Dane Massey and Brian Gartland.

He went on to join Bohemians in 2021, where he worked with ex-Lilywhite stopper Chris Bennion and was part of the squad for their UEFA Conference League run, before moving to Athlone in the summer of the following year.

Minogue, now 22, remained in the midlands since, becoming an almost ever-present with some outstanding performances, and was a key figure for Athlone as they made it to the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

Now, he moves to Dundalk as the 14-time League Champions bid to bounce back to the top flight at the first time of asking, and he is thrilled to be a part of the journey.

“I’m delighted to get the deal done and delighted to be here. My first game with Bray at 16 was against Dundalk, so it’s kind of a little bit of a full circle moment,” Minogue told DFCTV.

“It has been a few weeks since the playoffs finished. I was disappointed with the result in the playoffs, so I gave myself a few weeks away from it to see what I wanted to do.

“As soon as I spoke to Ciarán, I had a good idea that this is where I wanted to be. The history of the club is definitely something that I would have known, lads in Knocklyon like Dane Massey and Brian Gartland, they’re two players that I would have really looked up to.

“Coming up here, you see the facilities, with the gym and changing rooms, it is a proper club and I think it is one that we can bring back up.”

On the faces in his new surroundings, Minogue added: “I’ve met Ciarán and Ken (Kiernan – assistant manager) a good bit over the past few years, and Dean Ebbe I would have been very close with. I’ll be sharing a car up with him, so that’ll be great.

“Then today, meeting a few of the new boys, it’s nice to be around new players and get to know them. It was brilliant to chat to Horgs (Daryl Horgan) and get to know him as well.”

Minogue joins Harry Groome, Dean Ebbe, Conor O’Keeffe and Gbemi Arubi as new players announced at Oriel Park over the weekend, as Kilduff unveiled a quintet of signings just days after the club secured a licence for the 2025 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division.

Welcome to Oriel, Enda!
