Albion Rovers 1-5 Dundalk FC Ladies
NEFL Women’s Division North
Dundalk Ladies extended their winning run to three games with a 5-1 win over Albion Rovers in the NEFL Women’s Division North on Monday night.
It was a freezing night on the outskirts of Drogheda, and the Lilywhites were caught cold early on as they fell behind in the opening 10 minutes.
Dundalk grew into the game as the half went on, and levelled things up on the half-hour mark through Katie Moran. It looked like the sides were going to go into the break on level terms, but Caoimhe Crichton had other ideas as she scored a quickfire double to end the half with the Lilywhites 3-1 up.
The second half was a tight affair, with Albion creating some good chances, but nothing capable of beating Rebecca Lambe Fagan in the Dundalk goal.
Eddie Conroy’s side bagged a fourth goal on 65 minutes when Dayna Ferguson went on a brilliant weaving run before slotting home to cap an excellent team move.
The game was all but over by that point but Moran managed to score her second of the game with 10 minutes to go with a stunning 30-yard strike to wrap up an excellent Dundalk performance.
