Following a hearing of the Disciplinary Control Unit, the FAI released the following statement in relation to our SSE Airtricity League Premier Division fixture against Sligo Rovers that was played on Monday, August 29th.
The statement read:
‘An independent Disciplinary Committee of the Football Association of Ireland has determined that Sligo Rovers FC fielded an ineligible player in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division fixture against Dundalk FC on Monday, August 29th 2022.
‘The Committee has ruled that Sligo Rovers FC will forfeit the game by a scoreline of 0-3.’
The independent Disciplinary Committee also determined that the SSE Airtricity Premier Division fixture between Shelbourne and St Patrick’s Athletic, which was scheduled to be played on Sunday, August 7th, is to be rescheduled and will be played on a date to be arranged by the League of Ireland.
