DUNDALK FC PRESS CONFERENCE: CLUB UPDATE

Updated: Feb 24

Dundalk FC owner and chairman John Temple, CEO Peter Halpin and Alan Farrelly of UHY Farrelly Dawe White briefed the media on Club Licensing, SCARP and plans for the 2025 season at Oriel Park on Thursday afternoon. After a long and arduous process, the Lilywhites were awarded a licence for the 2025 SSE Airtricity Men's First Division. Temple said: "It has been a tough ten weeks. It was a very, very difficult time. I'm happy to say that the club has now avoided SCARP, which means we won't be facing the points deduction." He added: "I want to make it very clear, the reason it became so difficult for Dundalk Football Club was not because of recent turmoil, but because of legacy issues that were left outstanding. "The FAI sought a lot of assurances. I'm going to say it clear, the club is paying for the sins of others in the past. We were left with a mess." Thank you to Chris Clarke for filming the press conference, which you can watch in full below via Dundalk FC TV.
