The club would like to share news of some key appointments ahead of the 2022 season.
Sean O’Connor, who will be joined on the board by fellow co-owners Andy Connolly and Alan Clarke, has been installed as chairman.
Elsewhere, the vastly-experienced Simon Blackmore has returned to the club as our licensing officer, a role he held between 2015 and 2020.
“We’re very excited about the season – and the challenge – ahead,” said Alan Clarke. “There has been a lot of positivity surrounding the takeover and while everyone at the club has been given huge encouragement by this, we are also conscious that the club has gone through a turbulent time over the past 18 months.
“Our two main goals this season are to stabilise the club in every department while simultaneously building a competitive team that will challenge for honours in 2022 and beyond.
“We have also placed a big emphasis on rebuilding and reinforcing the links between Oriel Park, our supporters and the local community.”
In line with these objectives, the club is about to commence a strategic review that will cover all aspects of Dundalk Football Club. Areas that will be covered include:
- Supporter Involvement
- Youth Development
- Ladies Football
- Stadium and Infrastructure Development
- Media, Content and Communications
- DFC in the Community
- Commercial Strategy
- Match Night Experience
As part of the process, we will actively be seeking engagement and consultation from supporters, players, coaches and individuals with high levels of expertise and experience in their respective areas. Regular updates will be provided on our website and various social media channels as we move through this process.
We fully understand that you, our supporters, are keen to know what the club’s plans are for the future. By listening to you, and working alongside you, our intention is to shape a new vision for the club, a Dundalk FC that will flourish and excel – on and off the pitch – for years to come.
