Dundalk continued their recent good form on Friday night when they were 4-1 winners over Sligo Rovers in the SSE Airtricity League.
One of the standout performances on the night was midfielder Greg Sloggett and speaking to dundalkfc.com following the victory, he was understandably pleased with the win and feels that the side are now getting the results their performances have deserved.
“It was a good win for us and that was two wins in three days which was great. We are finally getting the results to match the performances at last which is good.
“We have been playing well and not able to get the points but I think you can see from the last couple of games that we have a lot of quality and we have been better.
“We just need to kick on now and keep the results coming.”
Dundalk reached the extra.ie FAI Cup semi-finals on Tuesday night with a 3-1 extra-time win over Finn Harps at Oriel Park in what was the first match since February 2020 that there was a substantial crowd at the Carrick Road venue.
Sloggett believes that the crowd have been a huge factor in the previous two results and is fully appreciative of the support.

“The crowds being back in Oriel has been huge for us. It’s fantastic to have them back and this week was the first time I guess that we have had something close to a full crowd allowed in.
“We have had the 200 in Oriel which isn’t really a crowd at all and it’s difficult to get that support but with the full crowd like the last two matches, they are right behind you from the first minute and we are all delighted to have it.”
One of the laments over the last few weeks has been that luck has abandoned the Lilywhites when they have needed it most.
In the past week, that appears to have returned to the side and the former UCD star feels that they are getting what they deserve now.

“I think you can see the difference that the breaks we are getting now makes. We are getting that bit of luck that wasn’t with us over the last few weeks.
“We always felt that our performances would get that and things would go our way, we have been playing well enough so to get them is helping us win.
“We want to capitalise on that further and get as many points as we can now.”
With no rest for the squad, Bohemians are in town on Monday evening and the 25 year-old is looking forward to the clash but is ready for a tough battle against the Gypsies.
“There’s no easy games and we have a tough schedule with Bohemians up next. They have been tough for us to play against and are having a good season.
“We are in good form now though and we are looking forward to the game, we are at home again and we want to get another win in front of a good crowd. “
