We are delighted to announce that Aoife Burns has been appointed as the club’s new Football and Social Responsibility (FSR) Officer.
The role will see Aoife develop and implement programmes that can make a positive social impact, as well as help the club improve its climate responsibilities and enhance Dundalk Football Club’s presence in the local area.
Aoife previously held some voluntary roles at Oriel Park. She was the club’s Children’s Officer between 2018 and 2023 and has also led the club’s coaching staff at our Summer and Easter Camps for the past three years.
“I’m really excited to get started,” said Aoife. “I have been a volunteer at the club since 2018 and I know how much Dundalk FC means to the supporters and the wider community.
“My main goal will be to increase our involvement with the community by engaging in football and non-football-related events.
“I’m looking forward to developing new ideas, such as our ‘Three Little Birds School Football Programme’, which will be rolled out in the coming weeks, and trying to make football more inclusive to everyone in the community.”
While the club has been heavily involved in community work for many years, the creation of this position means that Dundalk FC will join an ever-growing list of League of Ireland clubs to introduce a full-time FSR Officer.
