Louie Annesley made his return from injury by playing in both of Gibraltar’s international fixtures over the weekend.

The 23-year-old, who picked up a hamstring strain after our 1-0 defeat against Shamrock Rovers on August 28th, returned to full training recently and banked 180 minutes in Gibraltar’s games against Wales and the Republic of Ireland.

Unfortunately for Louie, Gibraltar were beaten 4-0 in both games, going down to the Welsh in a friendly at the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham on Friday and Stephen Kenny’s Republic of Ireland in their EURO 2024 Qualifier in Faro, Portugal, on Monday night.

Annesley met up with Lilywhites – and Republic of Ireland – physio Danny Miller after the game.

Elsewhere, Senan Mullen played the full 90 minutes in the Republic of Ireland MU19 team’s 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands in a friendly at the Pinatar Arena in Spain on Friday.
