Dundalk take to the road for the first time this season when they make the trip to Dalymount Park to face Bohemians on Friday evening.

A limited number of tickets are now on general sale at this link. Dundalk supporters will be situated in the new Mono Stand on the Connaught Street side of the ground.

Head coach Stephen O’Donnell has bolstered his squad ahead of the game by bringing in three players on loan this week.

Attackers Johannes Yli-Kokko and Rayhaan Tulloch arrived from HJK Helsinki and West Bromwich Albion respectively while defender Wasiri Williams came from Swansea City.

The Lilywhites kicked off their League of Ireland campaign with a 1-1 draw against UCD at Oriel Park last week. John Martin put Dundalk 1-0 up but a late Ciaran Behan free-kick salvaged a point for The Students on a frustrating opening night for O’Donnell’s men, who also saw Patrick Hoban’s first-half penalty saved.

As was the case in 2022, Dalymount Park represents our first away trip of the season where we will be aiming to claim our first win of the campaign against Declan Devine’s charges.

Team news
New signings Johannes Yli-Kokko, Wasiri Williams and Rayhann Tulloch have been named in the squad while Darragh Leahy is available after missing the 1-1 draw with UCD with an illness.

Quotes: Stephen O’Donnell

“We’re disappointed with the result against UCD last week and after the first 20 or 25 minutes, we were disappointed with the performance but, as I said to the players, the very first game of the season doesn’t define anyone. No one ever looks back and says, the turning point was the first game of the season.

“Bohs had a good result in Cork on the opening night and they seem to have a good camaraderie amongst them. They’ve obviously brought back Keith Buckley, who’s been there previously, and he will help galvanise them. They’ve good attacking threats and they’ve good options and depth in their squad.

“It’s always a good atmosphere at Dalymount and we’ll bring good support so we’re really looking forward to and it’s up to us to go up there and stamp our authority on the game and get our quality out.”

Player Quotes – Connor Malley
“We’ve brought in three new players this week which is great. When I first came into the building, I think we only had 12 training but now we can probably make two elevens out of the team when everyone’s back fit.

“I obviously know Rayhaan Tulloch well from our time at Rochdale earlier this season. We got on well when he was there. He’s a creative player, he’s got good feet, he’s sharp and can manoeuvre and manipulate the ball and work the keeper. He’ll be an exciting one for the fans.

“Last week against UCD was my first introduction to the league and it was probably a frustrating one. I feel like we never really got into our flow and the rhythm of how we wanted to play so, hopefully, that’s something we can implement into our game plan and then hopefully the result comes with that.”

How can I follow the game?
There will be pre-match, in-game and post-match updates across all of the club’s official social media channels – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Updates will also be provided on the new FAI Connect App.

The match will be broadcast live on LMFM and will also be streamed live on LOITV for just €7. Supporters can also avail of an LOITV Season Pass which costs just €120 and gives access to all 446 matches across the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division, Men’s First Division and Women’s Premier Division.

How did we fare against Bohemians in 2022?
We met The Gypsies on four occasions last season, going unbeaten in all. The first at Dalymount ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw with the second a 1-0 win in our favour thanks to a Tadgh Ryan own goal. The two meetings at Oriel Park also went our way with a win in May followed by a 2-1 victory in October. David McMillan, who announced his retirement this week after a magnificent career, scored his final goal for the club that night as we secured our place in Europe this summer.

Match Officials
Rob Harvey will be the man in the middle with Wayne McDonnell and Shane O’Brien assisting him. Paul McLaughlin will act as fourth official.
