Just a very quick update from Oriel Park on our latest commercial news. As I am sure all Dundalk fans appreciate the fact that the club has to work very hard to secure sponsorship deals and to ensure that our fundraisers are successful. In my last blog entry I was delighted to announce that myself, Gerry Matthews, Paddy Greene and Paul Johnston had succeeded in our aim to obtain match sponsors for each of our eighteen league matches. We also had match sponsors for all pre-season friendlies and the League cup match against Monaghan.

While I am not able to give too much details, I am today able to reveal to Dundalk supporters that I have just finalised a major investment in the club from a private individual who at this point does not wish to be named. This investment in the club is worth €50,000 which goes a long way towards our financial targets for 2008.

We are also on the verge of announcing another major sponsorship deal that has been agreed. We are just dotting the i's and crossing the t's on the deal but all should be settled in the next two weeks.

Again, sorry for the lack of details but I just wanted to give an update on our commercial activities. Just before I finish up i'd like to thank McCallister's Bar, Bridge Street for their sponsorship of next week's match with Kildare County. Also, many congratulations to the club's youth team for their FAI Cup semi-final success.
